Raicilla is a single-distilled spirit produced primarily from Maximiliana agave grown and harvested by hand in the Sierra Madre Occidental mountains in the state of Jalisco, Mexico. A relatively unknown cousin of tequila and mezcal, raicilla is in fact an authentic artisanal agave spirit rooted in folklore and tradition dating to pre-colonial Mexico, more than 400 years ago.
